BareBack Mountain

Just thought I'd jump in and give a couple of thought on the cinematic masterpiece... dare I say CLASSIC Brokeback (or is it bareback?) Mountain.

This is supposed to be the smash hit of the new year. A wonderful tale of forbidden love. Star crossed lovers who rendevous in a spur of the moment pup-tent round of male-on-male horizontal mombo.

Yeah. A full fledged gay man love story. And to top it off... it's a western.

Why didn't Clint Eastwood and The Duke think of this?

I was reading my friend's blog about this and added a comment and decided to go ahead and post it here as well.

Read Brady's blog: http://nobonesaboutit.blogspot.com/

Here's my response:

The Chronicles of Narnia total gross as of 1-20-06: $265,086,453.

At ~$8 per ticket: 33,135,806 people have seen it.

vs. the ~4 million who've seen BBM

Over 8 times as many people have seen Narnia.

ASTOUNDING

A movie (story) that serves as an allegory for the Gospel of Christ is 8 times more popular with the American people than a story about two sheep herders who are obcessed with eachother and their butt lust.

And BareBack Mountain get's best picture from the foreign press at the Golden Globes.

It's interresting don't you think...

According to Box Office Mojo All time domestic gross:

2. STAR WARS - Classic Good/Evil Battle
10. The Passion of the Christ - Uh... THE GOSPEL --- SALVATION --- ETERNITY
29. The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - Alegory of Christ and the Gospel.

Sprinkeled in there are the rest of the Star Wars movies too. But where do we find the obomination of Broke Back Mountain ? Not in the top 337 that's for sure.

So... apparently that movie is a huge financial flop... why? Because NO ONE wants to see cowboy man-lust.

Apparently the country's taste is still in the range of classic Good vs. Evil stories... ie: The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, STAR WARS, Narnia and the lot.

That's what we want Hollywood. Feed us!

We spent New Years day at Suzanne and Justin's house with Bob and Janice (Stellon's grandparents), as well as Nonnie and Pappa. Jayna asked Gran to read her Star Wars book. I'm guessing this was a first for Gran, but not a last if i have anything to say about it.
