explore faith : In the News

Ok, those who know me know that I am first and foremost a Christian. Not because of my status as an American, not because of my friends, or because I was raised Baptist. But because I believe fully and completely that the ONLY way to spend eternity with God is to receive the gift of Christ's Salvation and grace.

I believe that Jesus is 1/3 as well as 100% God. I believe that he lowered himself to become a man (yet was still completely God) and live here, among us and as one of us. I believe that he NEVER sinned. I know this because God can't tollerate sin. Therefore, since he IS God, he is, was, and will ever be without sin.

I believe that he offered himself as a final sacrifice to atone for all of mankind's previous, current, and future sins. I believe that this single act over-ruled the old decree that there would have to be a blood sacrifice in order to atone for a year's worth of sins and restore a relationship with God.... and because of this, we all live under God's Grace. We don't all receive that gift.... but it's there to for the taking if we just belive.

I believe. No questions asked.

Having said that, I also am a devoted fan of George Lucas and the Star Wars universe. I love the new mythology he created and will till I die. I pray he receives Christ as I have, so that we can spend eternity praising God as brothers.

BUT. The Jedi order is not a religion of Earth and should never be followed as one. There are many similarities between Jedi and Christianity, but the one thing lacking in the Jedi doctrine... is Christ. Therefore, it's false. It may be a good path to follow... like Budahism, but... it's not centered around God and Jesus's sacrifice.

However... that article above is interesting..... and also... sad.

later y'all !
